Nick & Sami Jo – 2014 Outreach Coordinators

Two more Outreach Coordinators to introduce…

Nick BrumfieldNick Brumfield has been selected as our 2014 Ohio Outreach Coordinator. Nick attends The Ohio State University and is majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Originally from Amanda, Ohio Nick stays pretty busy while at school. He is a member of the 2013-2014 Ohio FFA State Sentinel, on the Amusement Park Model Building Team, and participates in two Ohio State Christian Organizations. In his free time he likes to play guitar, go hunting, and has a passion for agriculture and renewable energy. If you live in Ohio and would like Nick to come to your community and talk about farm safety email him at! Nick is sponsored by Cargill, this allows him to spread the word of safety and health across the state at no cost to you.

Sami JoNext up is Sami Jo Heitsch. Sami Jo attends the University of Wyoming and is our very first Outreach Coordinator in Wyoming. Thanks to Farm Credit Services of America, Sami Jo can now give farm safety presentations throughout the state. Sami Jo grew up in Cheyanne, Wyoming but now studies Agriculture Communications at the university in Laramie. When she is not in class taking notes she participates in the Living Shepard Youth Group, is a member of the UW Cardinal Key Honor Society and the UW Wild Bunch Student Fan Club, and she is an ambassador for the College of Ag and Natural Resources. Sami Jo enjoys spending time with family and friends and riding her horse, Roundup. If you are in Wyoming and would like Sami Jo to give a farm safety presentation in your community email her at!

About Farm Safety For Just Kids

Farm Safety For Just Kids is a non-profit organization devoted to promoting a safe farm environment to prevent health hazards, injuries, and fatalities to rural children and youth. We produce and distribute educational materials addressing various dangers commonly found in the rural environment. Farm Safety For Just Kids is supported by a chapter network of grassroots volunteers located throughout the United States and Canada. The organization also has part-time outreach coordinators in several states. Chapters, outreach coordinators, and volunteers conduct educational programs to raise awareness about safety and health issues affecting their communities.
