Implications of the drought

Photo taken July 26, 2012 in Central Iowa

With over 50 percent of the country battling the worst drought in about 50 years, crops – and farmers – are stressed. Only making things worse is heat wave followed by heat wave across the country.

Take careful consideration to keep safety top of mind as you work in extremely dry conditions.

– Hydrate: People and animals
– Take breaks: Know the signs of heat exhaustion
– Slow down: Now’s not the time to push it
– Prevent fires: Check and maintain all equipment

Here’s hoping for some much needed rain!

Must be at least 18-years-old to participate.
