Finally, something I don’t have to research!
Farm safety non-profits come in all shapes and sizes. Farm Bureau is probably one of the most well-known, and an example of a non-profit where farm safety is one of the many great things they do for agriculture.
Check out this list of jobs that include farm safety!
There are many other non-profits that include safety as a part of their overall mission. Think of all of the grain and livestock associations. They all incorporate safety into their messaging and events in some form.
And ones you wouldn’t even think of like the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. They’re the organization of people designing new safety features for all aspects of agriculture.
And then there are organizations solely devoted to keeping people safe in rural areas:
And that’s just a few! The International Society of Agricultural Safety and Health is an umbrella organization that brings everyone involved in farm safety to the table.
It’s natural for safety to take a non-profit role. Groups typically focus on education and/or research. Interestingly enough, the job titles in non-profit are similar to for-profit:
– Executive director
– Director of program development
– Education director
– Marketing director (like me!)
– Chapter and membership director
– Vice president of technical and safety services
– Program services director
– Program/safety specialist
Next up we’ll talk about farm safety jobs within the government.
